General comparison as of 2026. Singapore’s headline corporate income tax rate is 17%. Hong Kong’s two-tier profits tax rate is 8.25% on the first HK$2 million of assessable profits and 16.5% above it, subject to eligibility. Tax outcomes depend on facts and reliefs; obtain jurisdiction-specific advice before deciding.

A business licence can be issued in as fast as 1–3 working days once the name, address, business scope and complete filing documents are accepted. Banking and post-registration steps take additional time.
No. The company must meet the encouraged-industry and substantive-operation conditions. Registration in Hainan alone does not create automatic eligibility.
Much of the preparation can be coordinated remotely. A bank or specific authority may still request an in-person appearance depending on the shareholders and chosen institution.
The test looks beyond a registered address. Real premises, staff, bookkeeping, banking, management and business activity in Hainan all matter to the overall evidence.
